Is there a general guideline to follow for mastering/mixing mashups? Should I add a limiter on the master channel? Is there a specific formula that I should adhere to?
Not really… its always difficult to get Mashups to not sound too squashed as you will be effectivly mastering some parts twice… just go easy on the limiter.
Maybe group some of the non mashup sample sounds and give them a bit more treatment. then just a touch of limiter on the output to catch anything else.

That makes good sense. Thx Phil!
