hi guys I really need your views on this. could be a very useful tip for you also
I have just wrote what I believe to be an amazing verse for my song. the problem I have is that in order to create a verse that is affective I mimic aniother track I like. basically I wrote me lyrics around the number of sylables in each sentence of another track. my rythm for the lyrics sound spot on. my song is completely different in subject to the other but can I get done for copyright if none of the words are the same.
oh I have fallen into the trap of singing mine to the same rythm lol oops
cheers guys
Who knows, how could we know without hearing both tracks? And even then I am not sure how many copyright lawyers are on this site.
BUT I think you should just get on with it and not worry. If you write this track and it doesn’t become a huge hit, no one will care enough to sue you. If it does become a huge hit you might get sued and have to hand over all the profits, but it will be a huge hit and the work will come rolling in.
Mate you speak a lot of sense. Never looked at it that way. I think I will continue. Cheers pal
