Mastering a DJ mix in Ableton

Hi there,



Just wondering what type of mastering should be done when making a DJ mix in Ableton? Obviously all the songs have been mastered, but I was wondering if something like the “mix gel” compressor setting in ableton would be worth using, or should I just leave the master channel alone?

i would probably say leave it alone. you could use a little bit of compression to get the levels up but i would be doing most the tweaking to get it sounding good in the mix?

I would agree there, ^. All you really need to is check the volume levels of the song/songs, check they have enough headroom…also check the volume levels of each track and equal them out.
