what are the characterisitc elements of the miami sound like george morel, robbie riviera?
i find that they can be quite organic / tribally west coast like when it comes to the drums but for keys they tend to be quite electro with quite harsh sounds on top?
what you guys think?
for me i prefer all the miami bass music, dirty booty electro breaks from the likes of 2 live crew and magic mike
Yeah it’s certainly a combination of that old tribal drum sound with elements of the new electro house sound in the synths and bass. I’m not sure it works that well, think they’ve jumped on a bandwagon a bit. People like Chris Lake I think do that kinda of thing a lot better. Another example is someone like Bryan Cox who used to make really good funky techno but now makes stuff that sounds like Switch/Herve/Sinden cast offs. I think Funkatron was the last great tune Riveria made.
