Midi to Audio and CPU usage

I’m currently working on a track that has many midi parts and my CPU’s are getting up there.

Q. If I converted some of the midi parts into audio would my CPU’s go down any?

/yeah probably… you can just freeze the tracks see if it helps.

thanks!

I find if you export each track you want to convert and re load the WAV file you get a much better quality track than freezing and flattening.

It also give you a good opportunity to examine the WAV file in a wave editing programme such as Adobe Audition.

I sometimes add EQ and Reverb in Adobe Audition before re loading to Ableton. this means you can save resources in ableton.

The above procedure can be more time consuming but does cut a of CPU usage
