That was a deep read, it took me back to when i was a punk and we broke into a 12th century Church Crypt one night to sniff some glue, it was the scariest time in my life ever and i dont think the glue helped.

Would love to go back some DAY and get some field recordings, the natural reverb in that place was chilling.

What another ex punk on the boards - wicked

Those were the days Slender, there seem to be more decent live gigs back then with big names in smaller venues.

You dont get the same atmosphere at the big stadium venues plus it was cheap as chips to go.

We used to go to all sorts of gigs just for the buzz !

Back to the present, Jeff Mills showing his talents on his 909.

Thats cool

Wonder how many of those people knew his tracks… looked like a bunch of cnuts to me!

Interesting that he finds it as difficult as I do to decide where the ride sounds good - haha! Ah, no… seriously… do you have a 909 5id? Might be confusing you with someone else - apologies if wrong.

Was wondering if the 909 Kick would be enought to play out… our would they route it through a hardware Comp & EQ. See people playing live with them, but wonder if they use all of the kit… or just parts.

I am afraid i do not own a 909 but would be really happy to experience the pleasure of one.

As for playing live with one its just straight into the mixer and you can still feel the oomph !!

I just bought the new XoneDB4 last month and all i need is either a 909 or a machinedrum to keep me satisfied.

Do you have a 909 or had the pleasure ?

Nope, no 909… yet. I could have got one last year for 750… I hesitated & someone else got the pleasure ;)

But considering what they go for, I should have got it. Next time I see one, I’m going to get it - funds permitting :)

Have you tried D16’s Drumazon ?

I have been mucking about with the demo which i was impressed with, i have now taken it further by making my own kick in Operator and comparing it to the D16.

Im actually pleased with the results.

I know its not a 909 but it saves me forking out money for a vst while saving for a 909 !

Yeah - Great vibe off it. I think theres an alive quality to it. They obviously have some bit of code that replicates the timing / slightly random velocities or whatever in it.

Sounds incredible. Next version will have drag & drop midi and values on the knobs when you hover…

Think i will just get the Drumazon.

I dont think my home-made kick is cutting the mustard :stuck_out_tongue:

Funny… I felt that I’d rather use the 909 Kick samples that I have… but I never considered using the Drumazon Kick to bounce / layer / effect… Hmm…

I was actually more interested in it for everything else - the rhythm of it sounds really authentic. Maybe its just in my mind & I’ve said it already, but it just sounds alive.

The Ride & clap are deadly… they’re constantly changing subtly as they play.

. AMAZONA SYNTH BY U-HE

Details are sketchy as its in German…

But U-HE have done a free synth based on a wish list compiled by internet saddo’s on Amazona.de (nope, never heard of it either…)

PC & MAC - Google Translator might help if you could be bothered!

Let me know what you think. Knee deep in college sh!t at the moment, so not going near music computers until I’m done :hehe:

Cheer’s mate !

I will check it out and compare it with the D16.

That was very considerate of you

LOl@ICN yeah I saw it too - and also am as enthusiastic about it - actually less so as I could not be bothered to post the details :stuck_out_tongue:

Has it got a “Make Tune” button? No?! Well, then its sh!t :hehe:
