I’ve currently got a pair of Yamaha HS50’s but have the opportunity to buy an Avantone Mixcube. br

Has anyone used them before? I’ve been reading Mike Senior’s “mixing secrets for the small studio” and he swears by them for referencing your mixes in mono. Well he says Auratone’s, but they’re passive and the Avantone is an active speaker so I wont need to look into getting an amp for it as well.br

I’ve got the HS80’s for my main monitors, so it would be purely for reference purposes. Can the HS50’s be used to do this or should I sell them and get a single Avantone instead?br

Also, do you know what sort of cable I would need to connect to my Saffire Pro 6 soundcard to sum it to mono? br
