Monitors

What are the best Monitors for less than $350 USD? It will be for a bedroom home studio with little sound treatment.

Get a good pair of headphones instead. br
But if u insist on Monitors KRK 5 OR M-Audio BX5 is pretty decent for that money.br
But i wouldnt buy smaller than 8’ for monitors for EDM.br

those might be worth a look.

Think the KRK Rokit’s are very good for the money./PPIf cash is really tight - i even think the 6 inch bass cone version are pretty good.

I have Alesis M1 Active MK2s which cost me about £250 iirc. Do the job but the rokits are prob better.

Have any1 tried Pioneers S-dj08 ? if so how are they compaired to krk rokit 8?

Hello dude…MK2s is the best monitor to all the others because i am also use this monitor last 6 months ago which is working good and reliable for me…currently are you use any monitor if you use what is the model of that monitor??

In my opinion, the yamaha HS80 might benbsp;the best value for money.nbsp; Especially for a small home studio with little treatment, because of the room control and eq switches on the back.nbsp; Though you need to take your time with them to determine the right settings in your room, but once you found these, they’ll do the trick:cool:

I second the “Get a good pair of monitoring headphones” suggestion.br
br
$350 will get you a pretty nice pair of headphones.br
br
$350 will get you one decent studio monitor.

I agree with Nico! I bought the HS50’s to begin with, but found they were lacking energy in the low frequencies so managed to bag myself a 2nd hand pair of HS80’s for £280 and have never been happier!br
br
If you’re lookin for a pair of speakers that sound boomy and make your tracks sound awesome then these aren’t for you. But if you’re serious about getting the truest possible sound from your mixdowns for a low price, then look no further!!

Honestly a good pair of headphones will get you further earlier in your career.br
br
But if you’re hell-bent on getting monitors I agree that Yamahas or KRKs will fit what you’re trying to do. The only caveat with this is that you’re going to need to treat your room to get a true image of your sound. Headphones provide a pre-constructed room of sorts, so no treatment is generally needed.br

One thing I and countless other producers do is produce in your cans (headphones) and then do a “car test” where you listen to your sounds using your car stereo since it will color your sound similar to what a general audience will hear (plus you can blast it, which is always fun).

Can anyone recommend a good pair of headphones then? I’m in the market for a pair and they would be ideal for the night time when my family is kipping!

I have the AKG q701 and i really like them, they have a really good frequency respond.br
Or i would buy Beyerdynamics 880DT those where my second choice. Both are awesome headphones.

I have the KRK Rokit 6, they’re nice.

MK2s all the way. They were mad cheap and I’ve had them for a few years now…
