in the moto blanco video, he refers at a certain point to the K strings ( which always work a treat in funky house)…does anyone know which keyboard would it be or any more details on that…?
thanks
I used the 70s vinyl string patch off the refx nexus for the high string sound… you could use any string sound really… that one has a slight lo-fi edge to it which i thought blended well.
Thank you Phil.
Is it from one of the expansion cards of nexus? and if it is which one is it?
also could you tell me what did you say in the video, was it the k strings ? …you said it is used a lot in funky house, so is it ermulating some kind of well known patch from an old analog synth?
thanks again
Most strings will work well, you should have some in the plug ins that come with what ever DAW you use.
I usually use Cubase’s Embracer or Korgs Wavestation, but there are good string sounds in various other plug ins I have. Just play around dude
thanks Roben. i am a bit stubborn though and i still think that in the video he had a very specific idea about these strings. i would still like to know what he meant by k strings? and why they are so suitable to funky house.
or is it simply strings in general that are very suitable to funky house?
I think what i said was “high” strings… im for belfast and have a funny accent etc.
its basically just a sustained note on the root note of the chord.
any string sound will do. the one on nexus is very good for this type of stuff though… its in the classical bank. of the factory sounds.
thanks phil.
you did clarify the lot especially with your sustained note on the root of the chord.
is there a way we could have a wav file of a C3 and C4 of that sound?
no worries if it is a hassle.
thanks again
