ML runs fine. Iam using Ableton Live with few Vst´s like ANA and u-he and had no problems so far. In my opinion ML is even better than Lion was.
Although Logic seems to respond quite late if i use some build in plugs. That was never the case with Lion. No problem for me because i use Live as my main DAW 
thanks for the reply, what set up have you got? i noticed on my early 2011 macbook pro that scrolling menus was a bit glitchy?!
I have an imac mid 2011.
