I use abletons auto filter to create mashups but the tune itself always comes out with poor quality. A mate told me it was because the resonance was too low. Can anyone explain this to me and how to get the best possible end sound.
Cheers!
Its more likley that the type of time stretching algorithm Ableton is using is degrading the sound quality.
Complex pro or Re-pitch seem to do the least damage.
Beats mode tends to cut of the low end and make it glitchy.
re-pitch is best if you dont need to alter the speed or pitch of the original.
Thanks for the reply guys, its not that unfortunately as I as a rule of thumb always use complex pro when i beat stretch. A mate of mine tole me to higher the q of the auto filters. This did improve the overall quality of the track but increased the eq of some higher frequencies a bit too much Any ideas?
