What from 2011 did you rate / love?
I’m trying to think myself - not sure whether I’m confusing 2010 with 2011 -but there was so much music I found this year that got my ears buzzing. I think I much prefer to listen to Albums. Especially in the car
There were albums from:
Planetary Assault Systems [url]- YouTube
Perc [url]- YouTube
T47 - [url]- YouTube
Lucy [url]- YouTube
Mike Dehnert http://youtu.be/OLs8j-R1NZM
Xhin (some of it) [url]- YouTube [url]- YouTube
Sandwell District was the end of 2010, but I really only got into it this year.
There were some remixes that I still have in my head:
Sian - Purple Bang (Carlo Lio RMX) [url]- YouTube
Matador - Katz (Audio Injection Remix) [url]Beatport: DJ & Dance Music, Tracks & Mixes
Apart from that, theres a heap of stuff I’ve forgotton about.

I probably spent most of 2011 listening to techno from about 10years ago. I’m struggling to list new stuff that I really loved or could equal what I rediscovered - but tbh, even though I like it - I cant say that I will still be listening to this stuff in 10years time

I had a listen to your choices ICN, I really like the bass on Palindron. The others are a little too dark for me, but really interesting to hear.
I’m going to pick three so I don’t get carried away:
ROMAN FLUGEL- dishes and wishes

Maceo Plex - Falling

Roman Fugel has come great sounds going there. Last listened to him a good few years ago… but his quality is top.
And - that Fink track is class. very cool track - just as good as anything that I’ve heard in the charts.

I honestly expected more people to be falling over themselves to tell what they thought was superior to everyone elses tastes.
Which made me think - do Producers actually listen to other peoples music?
or are they just fixated on getting the Kick sample used in a particular track, or how to make a wobbly bass?
Do people fixate on one track, or artist & only listen to that 24/7/365?
I’m thinking that maybe they do.
I love music & I’m always looking for stuff thats off the beaten track. I’m a music hoarder & a trainspotter. I’m guilty of constantly analysing what I hear (too much) - but thats just cos I fu cking LOVE music.
I’m getting the impression that people dont do much research here. Interesting.

Hmm maybe - but as you know I have a memory like a sieve - but since re-picking up mixing I seem to start remembering names of tracks again

Don’t worry, I listen to and buy enough music to make up for quite a few people on here.
Here is a bonus one for you, I got this on Vinyl a few months ago and I have only just worked out what it is called.
<EMBED height=315 type=application/x-shockwave-flash width=420 src=WPH White / Luv Jam - Dewi On Deck - YouTube allowfullscreen=“true” allowscriptaccess=“always”>
Go on then, I’ve bitten. Right…
I don’t buy artist albums much but these have been getting a lot of attention at home.
Not a link to the album but still. The album Conducted is a solid piece
Loving this. Would love to know what he uses to get the textures and grit in the tracks on the Paranoia album
As for singles, I’ve been rocking out to these
The whole EP is good…
Album was out last year but this came out as a single in January I think.
Other than that I love most of what Toolroom put out as well as Poker Flat. Can’t go wrong there.

Geez - Dettmann is a gentleman. Seems like a cool Guy.
Jon - Maya Jane Coles: ***** brilliant! Love everything I hear of hers, whether its a mix or an original track.
Sh!t cool music.
A lot of people will prolly disagree with my list but here goes nothing:
Tech House - Michael Woods - Fruitcake
Dubstep - cant choose between:
Feed Me - Strange Behaviour
Spor - Pacifica (technically he played this live at Global Gathering 2010 though?)
Prog House - cant choose between:
Deadmau5 - HR8938 Cephei
Sander Van Doorn - Drink to get Drunk Extended Mix
Breaks - Stanton Warriors - Shoot Me Down (Only heard it the other day but I keep listening to it over and over again, love this track!)
Cant choose them in a specific order but those are my top 6...

T47 was inspirational earlier this year but lately I’ve been listening to a lot of older stuff from jeff mills and surgeon.
I’m liking a lot more from unknown people on Facebook and soundcloud as well. Keeping it Independant and underground!

Whats he called - Wandering Rectum? :hehe:
Kaskade Fire & Ice Album anyone? I mean I know a lot of you guys are techno-heads, but I feel like Kaskade has such variety of emotions and feelings in his tracks. Yes they are all house for the most part, but his variety within the scene is amazing imo.
Also, been jammin out to Aural Psynapse by Deadmau5 as well as Bleed by Deadmau5.
In other words, lovin the chill/proggy stuff :)
