Music Theory question

I have a bunch of bass loops that are in D minor and i want to transpose them to g minor. Do i just transpose them up by 5 semitones or down by7 semi tones.

You see my track is in D minor but i want to use vaious other musical loops that are made in a different scale. How can i connvert say a f Major to fit in with my G minor track.

Hope someone can help.

You can do either or, but just monitor the pitch clarity if you go down. G-minor down in the C-0 to C-1 range is getting a bit muddy, depending upon your sound.

F-major has a lot of notes in common with g-minor. The only note you’d have to watch out for is the e-flat that is indigenous to g-minor, and the e-natural which is indigenous to F-major. As long as you’re selective with your notes, you shouldn’t have many clashes between those two particular keys.

Very soon…I’m just finishing up minor scales and modes before sending them to Phil maybe sometime today and definitely tomorrow. Shouldn’t be very long!
