not everyone at once… lol
So its not my type of music i dont really know how its supposed to be right. I can just tell you my impressions: in the 1th break its to less tension, to less sounds or what they are doing is to less. After when its start until 2:06 everything is fine, sounds great! but then the big break is as well too long without anythings happen, you looose the interest and tension Just mak it more interesting. The synth at the break at 1:21-1:28 sound bloody cool! Its a waste to not bring it straight after the big break loud and with cool beat and groove , without the vocals, back in. The vocals you can bring after a while back an reduce that cool synth. so far my opinions. i dont know if Im right but this is my feel
I appreciate the feedback man. I was trying to do an electro house kind of feel but wanted to take an outside the box type of approach. This remix if nothing else was definitely a learning experience. You say its not your “Type of music” what do you typically listen to?
I like lots of different kind of styles of electronic music. Mostly whats not mainstream… Techno (for example: Extrawelt) lots of stuff what is on Cocoon record Label. Gabriel Ananda, only if he plays live. Progressive House, tech house, (just if they are not to mainstream melodical, its have to scratch the brain a bit, a bit of dubstep, breakbeat, Coldcut, Hybrid have some amazing cool sound…
Anyway, I dit by myself some tracks: Stream Sven Sturm Samjam music | Listen to songs, albums, playlists for free on SoundCloud
they differ in their styles, I dont even know what style it is. I just created my own one:-)
Anyway the tracks are not masterd yet, I need to mix them up again becouse kick, bass is not clean enughf, Some synths are to loud etc. Im still learning… Lots of tracks I did before 1 or a half year and sins then I developed a bit more (I hope it at least:-))
You know you can add the player to the topic?
Sounds like some typical dance music stuff played in Dutch bars.
The synth from 1:05 onwards is missing too much of the low. Otherwize layer it with something more beefy in the lower frequencies.
Think you are simply missing a bassline like synth.
cool stuff samjam. As long as your evolving thats all that matters bro:) I noticed most of your tracks say premastered… I highly recommend the mastering tutorial on this site… Lots of great straight forward information to help when mastering your own stuff.
@daniann Thanks for the info about posting the player… Thats a dope feature.
As far as the baseline goes… I added one in the second half of dre’s verse and brought it back in the latter part of the song… Basslines have always been a rough spot for me. What would you recommend for a good bass synth and do you have any recommendations about playing baselines… i.e. pattern, business ect.
The kick seemed a bit loud to me and mabey a few other mixing issues but apart from that it sounded well produced! But ya I dont really listen to stuff like that so dont listen to me =)

There’s no good or bad bass synth imo. It all depends on what you are aiming at.
Read somewhere you used sub bass boom? That’s a nice one. Sylenth and Massive are good too. I often use EVM Bassline V1-3. Serves my needs for deep house. And it’s free LINK
I got some musical background and play my basslines intuitively. You could just try what serves your melody best and the groove you want to give to the track.
Just try to play some bassline patterns of different tracks.
thanks for the adivce and feedback daniaan. Im downloading bassline as we speak, im excited to see what it can do.
