Ok time for Tom’s VST of the Moment - Waves Tune Stereo.
This thing is simply incredible. Push a vocal through it and it maps out what key the singer is singing in on a keyboard. Every time the pitch of the vocal changes it draws the progression on the piano roll as a line. Strange to describe put if you think of pitch being the x axis and time being the y axis of a graph and then this drawing out the pitch changes you might know what I mean.
Now the very very very very very very very cool thing about this is that I’ve got some vocals that are harmonised, this product picks out the individual harmonies and gives you the keys of each. EG if you’ve got 3 singers singing different keys, it picks them all up and plots them on the piano roll!
You can even change the pitch of one of the singers if you like, althoguh that sounds dreadful.
I just pushed a rhodes through it and it told me all the notes that were played.
I just pushed a funky bassline through it and it told me all the notes that were played with that too, it even plotted them on the piano roll
This thing is going to be so handy for learning how complex parts of songs are created!
Sounds wicked mate! I was having trouble finding the MIDI for this 90’s piano sample, i’m thinking this could help me by uploading the audio and then it ‘should’ like you say plot out the midi for me!!
NICE ONE BRUVVAAA
Hah I just logged back on to go and post in that thread you created to link back to this - nice, exactly what I thought you could use it for.
You know what, i was just looking this up on Google and it looks and sounds like it works exactly like Melodyne which i have! Least that saves me having to purchase more plug ins
