My 'your studios' thread

I can’t find it, has it been removed?:doze:

yup

Can’t think why a thread with pictures of our studios would get removed??? Or did people start getting abusive in it or something??

Probably bandwidth. I bet if you had a thread with a bunch of gifs in it the same would happen…

Kit envy

This is my studio, I really like the “Mix Me DJ”, it makes the NI Maschine look like a toy.

SIKE!

This is def not the case. When you post up an image from flickr or even embed a video from youtube, all you are doing is putting code that will pull the image or video when the forum page is loaded.

So when WE as users load a forum page or thread page it is OUR internet connections that downloads the pic or video. NOT the Sonic Academy server. So this should have no bearing on the SA bandwidth.

Something must have happened in the thread that was not forum “friendly”…

Did they unban scott? :w00t:

thats hillarious!

Does it have OSC?

Not interested otherwise.

The militia probabaly took it over

OSC? This is a full music workstation. It has genuinely got 60 drum sounds, 21 drum loops, 42 effects sounds, 10 synth presets, 2 arp patterns and a glitch/stutter effect.

The workflow on this thing is amazing.

Regardless of who is hosting your pics, it still requires bandwidth from somewhere to load it embedded into the SA site. A page that is completely bogged down that takes a really long time to load on someones computer that has a really slow connection is a pain in the arse. I know that sometimes when I look at forums it drives me crazy that the page keeps jumping because posts above the one I’m reading have friggin gifs or large photos to load that haven’t been sized properly. IE. If your studio picture is 6MB, and you uploaded the full thing to your Flicker or what have you, it’s still got to transfer that picture here to this thread and upload it. At 6MB, that’s going to bog down the users computer without a good connection regardless of where it’s coming from. Just my hypothesis. I’ve seen this happen on other forums where a thread just gets sunk outta nowhere that had nothing going on in it to raise question…

…and I was reading the thread right before it was pulled and didn’t see anything off in there at all…

Thats probably why it got pulled :stuck_out_tongue:

That, and I also like the “studio envy” comment. LOL

i did see someone post a long reply which critised a previous post that was harsh and abusive then it got pulled

there was another studio thread a while back i’ll find it now and give it a bump maybe a mod could sticky it?

Really what here

I don’t beleive it

Ah… The whole thing had turned a bit sour though, in fairness.

They come at night - like drunken ghosts… deleting at will.

At about 4 in the morning. Usually about then… y’know…

Should have just deleted the offending posts rather than the whole thread, was cool seeing peoples studio pics!

Does this mean we’ll have to make another studio pics thread?

THIS!

Might also have been a bit of common courtesy to let the originator of the thread know so that they don’t waste 20 mins trying to search for a thread they know they created!!
