Need help understanding production concept

I have been listening to the Coma Remix of Homecoming, Pt. 2 by Charlie May and Barry Jamieson. I would really like to understand how the percussion is laid down on this track.

Specifically the sample throughout the intro that sounds a bit like a ticking clock.

Then every few measures they have something that sounds like a snare drum slide over the track with a delay - but this element has like a high note and low note to it and it sounds similar to the synth that comes in later on.

Thanks in advance for any ideas!

the ticking clock comes in at 1:16 and then stays in for awhile. the delayed percussion comes in right at 1:16 as well.

the synth line that sounds a lot like the percussion comes in at 3:04.

thanks,

the percussion delay effect is just a “send delay” - set up a delay send track and randomly send some percussion to it and you will get this effect. try also a filter delay to see how that sounds

the ticking clock is just a hat on the offbeat?

can’t quite pick out the synth sound that you are looking for? can u be more specific
