Need help with this

Ok so here are a couple of examples:

Groove & Bass 1

GrooveandBass1.wav

Groove & Bass 2

GrooveandBass2.wav

I’m well into this kind of groove and bassline in my House tracks and I’m trying to create it for my own tracks, the drums sounds to me like reverbed toms so i’m not too concerned with that as i’m pretty sure I can re-create but i am struggling with the bassline.

It sounds like a sub bass to me, however when i listen, is there portamento/slide on there?

Also how could I go about re-creating that in Sylenth? I’m not very good at synthesis, was hoping someone here might be able to point me in the right direction in going about re-creating this whole style.

Better still, a video tutorial cough phil / bryan

I only need the drums/bassline, could be your shortest tutorial ever :stuck_out_tongue:

Otherwise, yeah, if someone could even by text help me then that would be awesome too!

Now to go back and keep trying with this…

Muchos gracias amigos

BTW… could anyone recommend a good sample pack for toms/latin percussion? I’d rather one that someone could recommend really.

Anyone?

i would try this style of bassline with AudioBassline, keep your drive, Res and filter cut off low. you may find once you’ve nailed that pattern and groove the sound falls into place.

compression with zero attack will help to squash the transients of the bassline, maybe use Auto release to help smooth things out.

AudioBassline? is that ABL2?

It’s ok buddy playing around with ABL2 and it’s getting some pretty beefy low end bass similar to what i’m looking for, thanks mate

Finding it hard to get the groove, the sound of the bass is similar with the ABL2 but i’ve had to find a cone moving type sub to fill it out.

I just can’t get that bouncy jackin groove though, been trying pretty much every day all week.
