My first song i’m genuinely proud of, but i want to take it to a bit more of a professional sound. Any tips on mixing/mastering on this would be welcome  br
br
Any criticism is welcome even if it is “**** you!”

Can’t give you any mixing tips as that is my main problem too but really enjoyed the feeling of this track, nice and mellow.

The track is very flat, and really lacks any kind of energy or impact with the sounds.br

Try and work on getting a really good kick and bass i would say, then try and make your melodies much wider and full sounding.br

hmm… I think we both have different styles. /PPFlat to you is probably my mellow! Either way thank you for the criticism

First off embed the soundcloud widget lol :stuck_out_tongue: Just makes life easier :)br

Its a really nice mellow track but there are some things I could recommend (in my ears).br
br
1)The synth that rises at about 2:15 suddenly peaks at about 2:22, not by much but I would smooth out the automation a bit, I love tracks like this that you can doze off too but feel this snapped at me a bit.br
br
2) I would EQ the bottom end by a little just to help it sound less murky, not by much as it suits the track, just take out a little.br
br
3) Something doesn’t sound spot on with the snares, i thing if you bring them in a few ms before the kick it would sit them better.br
br
4) Put some variation on the drumsbr
br
5)Bring out the highs on the synths a lil bit.br
br
Other than that solid track, and these are all just suggestions, I really liked the overall feel of the track! br

Good work

Best criticism i’ve ever received  /PPI did try to sort out the automation on the rising synth but the plug-in i used is in beta since it’s programmed by a friend so it’s kind of dodgy, i’ll try and sort it out soon enough

What software are you using?br

Ableton 9 bro

Just whack an auto filter on low pass onto the channel and automate the cut off freq, sorted!
