hey sonic, i have a great opportunity to work with a vocalist i used to go to school
with and shes really good!
Now she says write songs too so i just don’t know how to go about it.
i know there’s no “certain way” to do it, but would it be easier for her to write maybe
the chorus and then i could work on some chords and finding a key her voice suits
best and build the track that way or would it be easier for me to do the chords and
progression 1st and then for her to start writing or to sit down together and do it at
the same time?
how do all the top producers and song writers go about making tracks?
I find getting some chords first will help get the ball rolling.
you can change them after most times.
try to keep them pretty simple… maybe even as simple as 2 chords over 4 bars.
This will give you more room to try different things later.
you could also giver her a couple of different key options… maybe just like 0 & +5 (C & F)
once you get to know each other better sitting together in a room is by far the best way… but it can be awkward if you aren’t pretty close.
Very awkward im guessing haha
Thanks a lot phil, we can always rely on you!
Welcome!!
