Need some tips FAST

I just can get my bass to sound as full and as warm as the main subby one in this track, any help please??

Try the waves Rbass…

didnt work mate, its more the sound itself…

it sounds like its the kick thats giving the subby phatness , try using parallel compression on an 808 kick tuned to the main kick basically just smash the granny out of the 808 , you could also side chain the 808 from the main kick just place the 808 on the 1/4 and leave it long ish ?)

parallel compression… I read about that recently, think it was future music, will need to revisit it and try - never done it before

Put a compressor on a send track with pretty extreme settings then apply it to different sounds. Viola paralell compression, also known as new york compression…

funny enough I tried that today, sounded like there was a delay from the send or something however, kinda the phasing but not - wasnt good. I cut the low to try n bring out the mid but no luck. z3ta with some adam van baker sound was close to it but z3ta keeps on crashing my system and in the demp from cakewalks site… annoying as I was gonna buy it but not now.

also that kick in the tyas tune is ace, cant get that either, and i’ve tryed it all! Sean Tyas eh, gotta love his work

He really is one of the best producers around…

I can get that in 5 minutes with my Moog.

Not everyone has a moog tho :frowning:

Mabey try the minimoog wayne its not exactly a moog but it does an awesome job and has some really powerfull subs in it…

Also any compressor with a dry/wet knob will give you paralell compression…

there’s a vid on parelell compression in the htsl techno from a while back if that helps

Right, but Wayne keeps complaining about the warmth that he cant get. Its because he doesnt have hardware synthesizers. You can get close with Minimonsta.

not a clue wayne but try this for the craic… seen this on some vid… basically ‘parallel fx’ using autofilter with bandpass filter type !

it’ll warm up the bottom but might not be the sound…

drop an Autofilter on a send channel…

From the bass channel turn up your send…

now solo the fx return channel, hit the band pass filter type & sweep it down towards the lower register… you should be just hearing the boomy boom or the warmy warm… sweep to taste.

After finding a sweet spot deactivate solo &

blend/mix the two together … hearing bass first & blend the warm in to taste…

hm… maybe patch eq8 after the autofilter to cut some lows…

The thing is i dont think Sean Tyas has any true analogue synths, so it must be able to be done without a real moog…

Sometimes saturator effects can be used to add warmth…

Tyas has a Virus… and uses ES2 in Logic… and was using Vanguard… as far as I can remember.

He probably has other stuff… but thats what he was using in the FM vid there a while back.

used waves Rbass a lot.

Really cool guy.

I’m getting there, well I managed to get a nice warm bass from sylenth layered with dune (and some fx plugins) and then I duplicated my kick track cut out the hi’s and have sent to a return (send only) with a compressor and then a sidechain on that just to cut out the attack so it dont **** with the kick and then a bit more EQ to add some nice subbyness, works really well.

Happy with the bass and kick now but I want my acidy bass to rise using the mod wheel which I can do on vanguard because its set up but sylenth isnt… so now I’ve gotta figure how the **** to do that!

Hey Wayne ive got some samples of a Moog Taurus its one of the fattest subs ive heard I pretty much use it in all my tracks…

Roughly how much is waves rbass?
