Hi Guys,br
br
Basically I am posting this because my ultimate goal when starting to make music a few years ago was to break into the top 100 in a beatport genre (any genre). I still havnt achieved this goal yet, I think its a lot to do with my tracks not being the best they could have been and the fact that i didnt want to promote my music because i don’t like annoying people.br
br
Anyway my latest EP was released today and i thought, F##k it! lets go for it and try and achieve this goal and get it ticked off the bucket list. hopefully if i achieve this goal it will give me the kick up the arse i need to start taking this seriously!!!br
br
Regarding the EP - three tracks in total. These tracks were purposely released in the winter time as the mood reflects a dark chilled vibe (yet you could still groove to it). I really think these tracks could help me break into the charts, especially since one of them is in the ‘Chillout’ genre.br
br
I would really REALLY appreciate if you could could purchases even one track from the EP (its only 2.17!) to help me achieve this goal. I hate to look like im spamming or annoying people but I really have to push this.br
br
If you buy the whole EP I WILL LOVE YOU! but if you can only buy one track, please buy ‘In Another Room’ as its in the chillout genre.br
br
Thanks so muchbr

If you achieve this goal of yours by begging people to buy your music, have you really achieved anything?br
br
br
br
man, your music will speak for itself and I really like the sound you’ve got going there, mix sounds tight as well, unfortunatley getting into the beatport top 100 in any genre takes more than just good music, I maybe wrong but I think it really depends on what label you are signed too in the first instance as well. The label need to promote the music in a big way, promo emails to djs that would be interested in playing your tracks for a start, do you know if this was done before release?
Kovax is absolutely correct on this, I can share with you some of my experience on this matter. br
br
Your track/EP may be great, but without a label who will promote it very well/promo to decent DJs and producers it will most likely not get far. br
br
You can get people to buy it and of course that will increase chart position, AND contrary to what JimmyHep said, what you are achieving is something which resonates in this sad music world, people pay way more attention to something that has made it in to the top 10, so if you badgered people in to buying your music and you got there, then you will also see benefit. br
br
This is how it works :[ br
br
I have had an EP (collab) out which reached No.1 on Beatport progressive house releases with Uplifting Music. My EP with Intricate Records reached No.4 in Prog Top 100 and like No.27 in overall releases. br
br
I have been there and know what it takes, and what this does for you (don’t order the Bentley just yet) br
br
It sucks but unless you make something truly special or a “Classic” in the making, the votes count! br
br
Hope this experience sheds some light for you. br

If you want to make it in the beatport top 100, you’ve got to put your money where mouth is, not really on others.br
br
If you really want to achieve this goal, pay for some promotion, proper promotion by yourself and raise your profile. Surely labels will notice those doing this more too and be even more interested in getting behind your cause.
