hey phil,

let me know what u think

Sounding much better.
The extra lead line that comes in dosnt sound like its matching upā¦ sounds like a couple of notes are clashing. Its also not a lift soniclyā¦ like your main chord riff is sonically epic and the lead line is a more subdued sound so dosnt seem to give it the lift it could.
think of the way SHM one works where each sound that goes on top is more epic.
The kick drop outs sound like they happen to frequentlyā¦ maybe once your clap comes in you just keep the kick rolling.
you could also try more FX sweeps in certain sectionsā¦ nothing too in your face unless its building up to main sections but something to keep the momentum going.
I think the pads that come in under the funky bass slow things down a bitā¦ I would be more inclined to use like a single chord stab from your main section building up to link the sections rather than the whole chord progression pad/filtered chords that are there.
Defo heading in the right directionā¦ arrangement is much better and sounds a lot less squished.
ok phil. iāll give the stabs a try and see how it sounds. gonna fill the FX out too!
if the stabs dont go could i get away with the pad progression filtering up?
iām asking this coz the main melody is more sustained, held notes
I think the changing chord progression slows it downā¦ it gives your ear a cue every 2 bars so you psychologically slow the track down to those intervals.
Keep the chord on the rout note maybe or if you really want to use the chord progression use it on a kinda dropping down bit.
That makes perfect sense. Legend phil!
Iāll upload a newer version in a few days if u wanna have a listen!
Thanks again!
hey phil, could you have a quick listen to this!
how does arty get the progression thing to work?
similar to whats going on in mine.
this made the no1 in the trance charts
Nice track!
The bit at the start where the pads are over the track i think its maybe the energy of the other stuff is very strongā¦ the track does sound more trancey and floaty than yours.
I think the straighter bassline also helps itā¦ there is less to conflict with the notes in the chords. Its also not in for very longā¦ 2 cycles i thinkā¦ and its filtering up quite quickly so its like a build as opposed to it just being āthereā Kinda what i was saying before about using the pads as part of the transition to the drop.
have a listen to how quickly new things are being added or changing its quite quickly which keeps you focusing on different things all the time and gives great momentum.
