New Deep Progressive House Track

Hi everyone,br
br
Have been attempting production for around 6 months now and have made a number of tracks. The first I feel is good enough quality to ask for feedback is below… would love any constructive criticism!br

This was excellent until it dropped - then it was pretty muddy in the bottom end and the mids, and some of the elements were not really working together to get a really good groove.br
br
The first part of the track is really, really good though.br
br

But also the arrangement - start with just the drums and perhaps a stab playing, and then slowly filter everything in over 32 or 64 bars, to create some tension and atmosphere.br
br
You have the makings of a really good track from the first section in the clip that you posted.

Yeah Im with David on this one. The bass is really loose at the main drop and it is kinda kills the vibe. I would think about having a strong mono bass sidechained to the kick with the other elements eq’d and panned to slot together better.br
br
But on a good note the intro sounds great

**** SoundCloud file now correct  *****br
br
Thanks for the feedback guys!br
br
I’ve had a go at cleaning up the drop… avoided changing it too drastically.br
br

  1. EQed the lead harder to remove the lower frequencies.br
  2. Lowered the envelope decay and release on the bass to sharpen it.br
  3. Reined in the off beat bass notes which were spiking far higher as the side chain wasn’t affecting them.br
  4. Removed some other layers which were mudding up the mids.br
  5. Reworked and arranged the vocals to return the focus to the lead, but then build up again before the second breakdown.br

    Comments appreciated :)br
