Here’s my new tune - i’ve been working on it for a couple of weeks but was running out of ideas until i saw the the new progressive tutorial (fantastic tutorial btw)
Would really appreciate feedback on how to improve as I am new to producing and learning more and more each day …
ill be honest with you. i think its well produced and i like the vocal sample, but the dissonance in the off key melody/chords really stops me from getting into the groove. i understand youve done this on purpose as a glide effect but it just doesnt work for me. it might for others tho. but as i said its well produced and soudns professional.
cheers for the feedback jpgetty2win - when I get some spare time I will watch the chord tutorials as it’s definitely something I am struggling with at the moment. If you could give me any advice or tips it would be appreciated

your using a glide effect on the chords arent you? gliding them up? or just playing a chord progression?
The sample is from a film called network! Late 70’s early 80’s i think but most of it is pretty relevant for today. I googled the film you mentioned and it sounds pretty interesting, may have to give it a watch
The chord stabs make your otherwise very good track, terrible. I would turn off all your glide/portamento settings on your synth you use to create those stabs. Other than that man, it sounds pretty good. The glide is just a very obvious problem (but should be easy to fix!)
im getting confused now as my synths do not have any glide/portamento applied to them but obviously this effect is being created. Is there any other way how to amend this?
Moody, if you want to send me your session, I can have a look for you. Like Kieran said, if it’s not portamento, there’s something modulating the pitch.
I just listened again. Are you positive your chords are in the same scale and key as the rest of your track? It’s sounding more like that’s the case now.
