i’ve got an i7 macbook pro - absolute beast. especially combined with an SSD hard drive.
if i was to give one piece of advice to any individual making music - it would be to avoid PC.
i spent more time FIXING my pc than i did actually doing anything useful.
polar opposite since i got a mac - pleasure to use.
i have heard issues with freezing on the macbook pros; but as far as i know the issue is releated to the new 2011 hardware with the quadcore. mine is 2010 with core 2 duo i7 - no problems here. other than it being so awesome i might explode

Thanks, yeah I have a 2010 13" duo core 2.4Gz MacBook Pro already (was thinking about upgrading to the 2011 13" I7 2.7Gz)–Powermax.com here in the States does trade-ins (so would be a little less than half price for the new one).
I’ve heard the SSD are faster than the standard HDs on the Mac, but in the long run all SSDs wear out with lots of writes (especially if you re-install OS).
