So I’m about to buy some KRK Rokit’s but I’m unsure as to whether to by teh 6’s or the 8’s. There’s very little price difference but obviously the 8’s are bigger (8inch).
Anyone particularly rate the 8’s over the 6’s.
Room is a decent sized bedroom, Maybe 4X4 metres. No acoustic tiles and such in place.
Any thoguhts?
If you get the 8" monitors you might be best looking at getting some basstraps set up
yeah, i have rockit 5’s in my small studio and they work perfectly. the rockit 5’s are one of the highest rated monitors out there by a couple magazines. And in all of them they are rated the best for the price.
The 8" will have a better frequency range though. I think the 5’s only go to like 60Hz, and the 8’s go down to like 45Hz or something. I could be off on the numbers, but bigger is always better for monitors IMO if you can afford it. Bass traps can be made cheap and easy with goods from the hardware store… It all depends on what music your making too… If you don’t have a lot of sub bass in your tracks and most of your bass cuts out at 75Hz, then 5" would be ideal. My two and a half…

Thanks guys.
I’ve been looking into bass traps recently actually. Should be a cinch to make.
i have 6s and i love them but i only have a small studio
I have the sixes as well. They are very nice. I live in an apartment, so I can not even listen to them. The sounds shoot through my apartment walls. They look good on my desk though. You want be disappointed with the sixes. I’m sure the fives are even good. I would still get eights if money was not an option.
It’s mad - over here the rp6G2’s are about $40 cheaper than the 8’s. I can’t understand it. I can understand though, that I need to buy these!
