I know everybody is hyped about ANA around here, I am too, but I just saw Steinberg’s new update to Cubase and the synths that are included.
Anyone here that uses Cubase like me has had a chance to test them? They seem pretty awesome and just wanted to know if there are any opinions about them around here.
Sucks its a paid update, but I guess $50 for 2 new synths is not a bad deal, specially if they are as good as they seem.
Retrologue seems like a pretty solid analogue synth, not sure how it compares to sylenth or even ANA in this case. The other one, padshop is a granular synth. I dont have much experience with this kind of synthesis so I would definitely like to hear from someone who is more familiar with it.
Opinions?
i just updated it yesterday . 50 Bucks for 2 new Synths? plus the Sound Cloud Plug ins and the awesome FLAC format to save you tons of hard Drive space?
dude is a no brainer.
i been purchasing and wasting money on synths, trying to look that specific kind of sound engine .
Retrologue is a beast. have some really nice feel to it . and the cool thing i seen in the plug ins is that you can MIDI learn every knob . no need to set up complicated MIDI commands anymore.
now the one that impressed me the most was the Padshop. AMAZIIING PADS and atmospheric presets. i fell in love with this new 2 synths and i am going to whore the out .llol
also i tried today the SC application , and it is just perfect .
the filters and the other effects are alright but i was very impressed more with the Synth.
buy it now .
Just upgraded today. You are right, Padshop blew my brains out. Very complex yet very organic atmospheric sounds. I’ve only had time to browse through the presets (which are excellent), but it seems that once you get the hang of the synth it will be even more rewarding.
Retrologue didn’t disappoint either. It has a lot of presence and I like they included all the controls in one GUI unlike Prologue or some of the other synths.
And yeah, the direct to soundcloud export option is definitely a welcomed addition. Saves an extra step right there.
The new DJ EQ and the Filter are ok, can’t complain about them either. Gives you an extra tool in the arsenal, plus the interface design looks pretty cool (yes I know its kinda gay but cosmetic design helps me get into the production).
Overall very pleased with this update, now I know what I’ll be doing on over my spring break :P.
I will try to make a track only with Padshop and Retrologe
