it has the potentional… but the snare is a little bit strange panned hard right.

Yup, I think the snare is a bit odd panned right like that.



There’s a couple of things I’d look at:



(1) variation in general. The main chord progression starts and then doesn’t really let up or vary significantly after that. I know you add a new melody line in but the chord prog seems to stay there for too long without varying. The middle section kind of loses it’s drive as you drop the perc out and rely only on the synths for a long time, esp in the break. When the drop comes it kind of lacks impact because of that, not enough going on at the bottom end you know?



(2) EQ - the sounds are solid but lacking in top end sparkle. Might be a good idea to go back through each part and check how you’ve EQ’ed them.
