I think the “How to make trance using ableton live - John o’Callahan” tutorials are very good–though it would be nice to see one that has less of a thumping Drum and Bass feel and more of a progressive / uplifting feel like Mat Zo, Gareth Emery, and Aly & Fila remixes.
I tried trancemusicmastery.com, but it wasn’t for me. Not to be snarky, but I didn’t find it nearly as helpful as the tutorial above–the guy did a whole video where he geeked out for several minutes on his studio and almost caressed the trendy sound boards on his walls.
IMHO, I didn’t come away learning from a real producer how to create trance music.
