NI Komplete 7

Anyone getting it? What are your thoughts in comparison (or should that be komparison) with 6?

The reason I ask is I’ve just been given back pay that has been owed for a while now, and after paying the bills etc etc. I’ve actually got a bit of money to spend on a treat!

I’ve been looking at this and the Sugar Bytes Bundle, both of which are priced the same, but Komplete seems to offer a hell of a lot more. I really like the effects in Sugar Bytes though (Effectrix, Artillery, Thesys, Consequence). I can afford around £400 (maybe a bit more if I don’t tell anyone) - what would you get? Either? Neither? Anything else?

Think its great value. Work out how much it is to buy it all seperately like.

I find a lot of the NI stuff too mad to use, or a bit too complicated to get the sound that I’m looking for. I’ve got Reaktor & had Battery (sold it)… & find them a bit hit and miss at times. That said… if you want something unusual & inspiring… there’s plenty of crazy stuff in Reaktor & DL’able from the User Patches on the NI W/site. Lots of mad Audio mangelers / Drum Synths / FX & Synths.

Never used Kontakt… but would love to have something halfway like that in the EXS24.

K7 comes with pretty much everything for sale in the NI Shop… all the expansion packs etc…

Dont have much experience of the Sugarbytes fx stuff. NI have “The Finger” ensemble for Reaktor, which is basically like artillery.

Yes - that’s what I was thinking too about Artillery and The Finger. I’ve got Maschine which has preloaded MIDI templates for a lot of the NI stuff as well which is tempting me over.

Bugger it. I think my mind is made up.

got it sent to my mums house the other day, gonna install tomorrow so will let you no what i think if your interested, i got the upgrade from reaktor, my advice is to buy a second hand copy of reaktor on ebay then get the version i got for like £150 of the full version

I have Komplete 6. I use Kontakt in pretty much every tune I make - I use Elektrik piano a bit but I think I actually prefer the much cheaper Lounge Lizard VST. I want to use Massive as the sounds you get out of it are sick but it’s a bugger to work out so I end up using Sylenth more.

The samples in it are supreme though - the drum hits and pianos alone are worth the money in my opinion. The Orchestral stuff is cool too, if you know how to put the instruments together with one another (which I don’t!)

Nice one - the Reaktor tip is a great one. I’ll definitely try it this way round.

EDIT: Does this work with any previous version of Reaktor?

I’d say its R5 up - though I’m not 100%.

The GUI on the finger is pretty slick looking… whereas some of the synths on Reaktor look real 1950s’s.

They’re usually the older ensembles.

I dont think its really worth the extra cash. Reaktor 5.5 is a free update from 5.0 users.

Don’t forget they’re giving away the Players for most of their stuff tomorrow - along with a bunch of presets/patches.

Yeah - Cant wait for that Mate!

im looking at the box now, sasys its for users of kontact 1-4 and reaktor 2-5 guitar rig kontrol and kore
