This creeping latency gets so bad so quickly that right after launching Ableton I just have to wait like 5 minutes and the latency renders the keyboard section of my Remote SL useless. Weird thing is that the keyboard seems to be the only part of the keyboard acting up. Faders, buttons and knobs are not affected.
Novation assured me that this progressive latency issue I was seeing was a problem between Ableton 7 and the Remote SL and that I had to upgrade to stop the problem. Version 8 is no different.
I am tired of calling them with no response and when I did get a hold of them they had little clue on how to address the problem.
By looking on the web it seems other people have talked about it, but I’ve yet to find a thread that talks about the issue in depth.
If anybody here has experienced this, I would love to hear from you.
Thank you so much!
Sorry - I can’t help with your particular issue, but I am very suspicious of Novation products period. I bought a ReMote MKII SL25 last year and within four months had sold it. I found the build quality to be very cheap, and Automap almost unusable. My advice would be to sell it and buy a more reliable keyboard - it sounds as though customer services arn’t much better than the products they sell!
I’m sorry this is a negative response, and I’m sure other people love Novation products, but for me they just don’t cut the mustard.
I have heard reviews like yours a-plenty on the web, then you also have a good share of good ones too. As of now my feelings towards novation are pretty negative indeed. My lack of experience with other controllers is probably a big reason why I can’t make a good judgement.
When I bought it I was sol on the Automap feature. So far, so good. I like how Automap works (being able to use the keyboard as I move from one plugin to another within ableton, etc).
Thank you.
If anybody has seen this issue, please advice.
