Wasn’t going to buy them really, was doing a bit of e-window shopping! It seems a bit too good to be true.

The HS80’s look sweet though … and from the right manufacturer!

phew i nearly soiled my pants :P:hehe:

They look cheap and nasty - just like my woman

True.

Tbh I dont think theres any need to buy yamaha Ns10 replicas, just buy the originals…

I like the yamaha HS80s, they are soooo much better than the 50s which suck really hard in the low end. But I think these monitors sound a lot nicer than the NS10s.

I think I will be considering the HS80’s in time as I’m not really convinced by the KRK ROkit 8’s I currently use!

I have the hs80s and I demoed them against the krk vxt8 and preferred the yamahas which are half the price :slight_smile:

If only I could turn back time and make a different purchase!

… anyone wanna buy a pair of KRK rokit 8’s? They’re awesome! :stuck_out_tongue:

I looked at the HS80’s but they are out of my price range right now. :w00t:

Looking at the HS50’s now.  Those still have gotten good reviews and they are little more within my budget.  Plus I’m in an apartment and don’t need anything putting out so much sound.  I am sure the neighbors would prefer the HS50’s.

Trust me man they suck! For dance music you need low end and at least a 6-8 woofer. Even the HS50 with a sub sucks cos the HS50 speakers suck rly bad for dance music.

Really?  I’m screwed then.  I need some studio monitors badly.  But can’t afford the HS80’s.  Are there any other ones that are good with a lower price?  I know you get what you pay for, but can’t do those right now.

Why not try to save up? You need to get out of the I MUST HAVE IT NOW!!! mentality. If you can afford something that is 300 dollars today you might be able to afford something that is 600 dollars next year. Untill then, just use your headphones…

I’ve heard differently. The hs50 and hs10 sub set up is supposed to be good

No no no don’t do it! We tested these against some proper ns10 in Uni, plotted freq response etc, utter ****e!

Which ones did you test?  The 50’s or both?

I think he’s referring to the StudioSpares SN10 knock offs

It doesnt matter if you have a sub, the HS50’s just suck for DANCE MUSIC. Im sure its fine for live recording and bands etc cos u dnt need as much low end. But as a speaker they suck, trust me ive used em…

The lows sound like the lows you get from your ipod headphones…
