NS7 or CDJ1000mk3

Ok Boys and Germs I’m in a predicament:

Should I buy the Numark NS7 or a pair of CDJ1000mk3’s and a DJM800

I’ve had CDJ’s in the past, know them, love them, but do I want to have to burn a bunch of CD’s every time I want to play a track?

NS7’s mixer looks basic in comparison to the DJM800 though.

Or should i spend all the money on h00kers?

What are your votes people?!

Hi Bouffont,

Ok if you have the green to buy pioneers mk3 & an 800 mixer, get them even thou it’s about £1000+ more that the Numark NS7. i’d get the pioneers plus if you can get torq conectiv which is cheap and as good as serato you can control your mp3 with you pioneers through that no more burning :-). really i’m not a fan of numak stuff anyway, i’d really be askin if anybody used one of these midi controllers to see what they think and the feel of them how responsive they are. (you may of used 1 b4 yourself i don’t know??). one thing you know is that you’ll never go wrong with pioneer and that would be a sick set-up.

For me personally the choice always comes down to market presence for which Pioneer dominates. What I mean is when the time comes for you to play around in afew bars/clubs, Its a 99% certainty that they will already have some cdjs installed as they are the industry standard. I imagine the NS7 boasts almost twice as many features as cdjs, but at the end of they day it doesn’t matter when the bar/club owner wont let you use them in his/her venue. Even if they do, do you really want to be carrying that around with you, its huge!

Thats just me though.

cdj’s win hands down and i’d go as far as to say the djm800 is the best mixer i’ve ever used and beats allen and heath any day of the week

pioneer is industry standard for a reason!!!

a cdj and djm800 set up is awesome and the best you can get imo:D

Hookers!

But if that fails…

I’m going to say NS7, I have had both and NS7 suites me better…

I don’t want to get into a CDJs+DJM vs NS7 argument though…

I’ve used both before, and it doesn’t bother one bit if the CDJ users want to stick with there CDJs, I’m up to date with technology… I even use the auto sync button nearly all the time except when Serato has got the bpm wrong… I don’t believe I’ll forget how to beatmatch… Frown on me if you will, I don’t care, for me it’s all about the music that comes out of the speakers. Your welcome to have a go at me, it’s not going to change my mind. I used CD decks before and manually matched beats fine for years. I’m open minded and if a DJ chooses to DJ with old vinyls on technics, fair enough.

Serato have confirmed effects coming out before 2010 so I’m happy. My favourite things about the NS7 is as soon as I’ve downloaded a track I immediately have it to play, no having to make cd and print out a tracklist, it’s there ready for you. Organising music is easier as its just a case of dragging and dropping. Itch is very stable and I’d probably stick to it over traktor, torq, etc as long as it meets my needs. It also looks the part which I like, its not essential but its there. The vinyl platters are excellent.

I really believe Numark have copped themselves on unlike the past where they made dodgy products. It’s better built then any DJ product I’ve ever seen before.

Be wise, it’s alot of money, the NS7 could end up going arseways it’s early yet. Also check out the Vestex VCI-300 before deciding. It’s considerably cheaper then the NS7 and works the same with Itch.

This is possible with cdjs + traktor or serato but again is more expense! Burning discs is indeed a pain especially in this digital age.
