Ok theres been something bugging me lately about the message board, and i’m not sure why this has happened in the last few months but there seems to be a lot of people giving it the ‘i know so & so, and have been involved with here & there so therefore my advice/comments/opinions is right and yours is wrong’.
Seriously what the hell has happened to this message board lately? I know it’s grown a lot in the last year, but I thought we were all here to learn, share advice/opinions and talk music/production.
Seems to be too much unnecessary name dropping lately, look i’m sure most people here know a few successful producers and artists, but there’s no point spouting about it, no one cares and it DOESN’T mean that your comments/opinions/advice holds more value.
I honestly couldn’t count the amount of well known names I know, i mean fck me i live in brighton for fck sake, big name producer central or what?? But that does NOT entitle me to boast about it and scream from the rooftops with a ‘i’m mightier than thou’ attitude.
Also, just because someone might have more posts, been a member longer and/or is a subscriber to the website, it does not entitle them to talk down to others that may have lesser post counts, new members etc.
Lets go back to how Sonic Academy used to always be - a friendly fun message board.
And FYI: This post is aimed at a few people, not one in particular.

Read my posts and I never mentioned anything about anyone and name dropped one time. That name was Francis Preve and it was because I decided to link a website where people could read a bunch of stuff that I learned from and I thought it would be helpful. Instead of people saying thanks, a few people came and said **** to the effect of “nice name dropping”. So whatever.
When I refer to “my friend” and say something like “my friend was telling me…”, I put that because I dont want to take credit for something that HE learned in school and forwarded to me.
If you are expecting any forum to be one happy place, you shouldn’t be on the internet. And if you are unhappy about it, leave. If you have a problem with me, bring it up right to me in a PM or on the user council, like when I had an issue I did the same. Not in the general forum so that you get a ton of attention.
I’m sick of this baby bull****. No one can have an opinion or a discussion without someone getting their panties in a bunch. Grow a pair.

roben gotta say that howard is right! i have nothing against either of you guys but if you’re gonna make posts like these you need to keep this sorta thing to pm’s because its the constant bitching on the board’s that has reduced the quality of post’s in the past month.

I once saw the Spice Girls coming out of a hotel in Manchester and then saw Shaun Ryder walking down the street talking to someone on his mobile and I also saw the bloke who plays one of the Dingles on ‘Emmerdale’ in Harrogate the other day.

roben the OP seemed very much like it was aimed at one person and to be fair i know i’ve not been around for 8 days (maybe i missed something) but i can’t find anything posted in the past 4 days that would cause you to write this rant, seems to me as though its been dragged from no where.
i really wouldn’t wanna see either of you go from the site but its gonna happen if you keep going at each other like this.
