Opinions on different sidechain techniques

Hi I am new and wanted to get involved in the forums more, so I was wondering if some of you could talk about how you side chain.br
br
At the moment, I tend to compress parts of the eq.br
br
Also, on one track I tried something new and instead of using side chaining on the main bass, I put an LFO on the cut off so that I could continue to have the pulsy sound at small parts of the song where i would drop out the kick.br
br
I have also been experimenting with unlinking an eq8 envelope in the bass loop and basically automating the eq controls to a side chain sound that i like. br

another thing you could try is using a ghost kick or hat to triiger the sidechain and just automate it on and off as needed… you can also use a sidechain witha highpass autofilter if you just want to duck the bass.

Yeah, ghosting works well. I love really heavily compressed sidechaining so I often brick wall the threshold. br
Also I sometimes split the sound into two or three returns to play about with the low/mid/high separately and then you can sidechain them all differently.

Just seen this vid posted. Hav a look and if you still have any further queries, please let us know.br
