I’m try to make alot of sounds before i start a song, my problem is that it gets messy really quick when i have like 10 audio tracks with a bunch of audio clips on them.br
br
I want to be able to drag+copy my Audio clips into a folder i’ve created in the browser. However when i do this it creates a .alc file which is just a reference file and not the actual .wavbr
br
I also can right-click the clip and click show in browser then drag this into my folder, however when i do this it creates a project folder with like 4 sub-folders i have to click through to get to the .wav (with “collect files on export” enabled)br
br
I just want to be able to build a permanent sample library (like how vengeance essentials looks when you open it) quickly and efficiently. I feel this should be easy because producers must save their sounds and ableton would be aware of this?br
br
Thanks for any help
What version of Ableton are you using? I know you can do it with Ableton 9 quite easily as you have a subfolder called user library and you just create folders and drag your samples in there.
Yeah i was using 9, i realize now the .alc file isn’t a bad thing (unless you plan to switch daws), and helps keep your computer running fast. Also since i started working on a library my tunes have gotten loads better, especially with dub step because if you got a bunch of cool unique sounds ready to go you move really fast. Wish i would have known this a while ago, I think there may be a huge connection between organization and your musical resultsbr
Definitely! I’ve found that I know where everything is since I became a lot more organised with my sample folders, without having to trawl through loads to find that one sound and potentially losing the idea I had cause I couldnt find it in time!
