Other VST's?

I am very impressed with what the Sylenth1 VST can do by watching the Dubstep tutorial, but I was wondering what else is out there that could rival Sylenth1 or potentially beat it?

I’m thinking “Massive”!

all of these

jon’s got a nice list.heres a few additions

zebra 2.5 or a.c.e (ace is only 85 dollars, sounds absolutely amazing, easy to program, and is one of those synths that just seems to sit right in the mix, zebra just keeps getting better, the dev really does things the right way, everyone should own a u-he synth)

http://www.u-he.com/

waldorf largo (one of the best sounding softsynths of all time, but thats just my opinion)

http://www.waldorfmusic.de/en/products/largo/largo_overview

everything they make(good price,great sound,great company)

http://www.gforcesoftware.com/

xils3 (another one of the best sounding softs ever, though this synth is probably most suited to people into sounddesign )

http://www.xils-lab.com/pages/XILS-3.html

rob papens stuff

http://www.robpapen.com/

tone2 gladiator (amazing softsynth, too bad the devs a total tnuC.team air did him in pretty bad when they exposed what he was doing.google it.)

http://www.tone2.com/

if your post was just looking for synths to make dubstep basslines, then you dont really need one,you could more than make do with something as basic as abletons simpler if need be.

if you already have ni’s reaktor than go here and download these ens

or you could use what came with your DAW. Unless you’re using Cubase, the included instruments are top notch.

I would suggest to give Sawer a go . its really good for Electro, Trance and other generes that involves lots of Rough patches .

Oh right, was thinking for a second that you knew them or had seen the project but i remember now that you like to do a bit of preset spotting.

my guess would be the pitched hoover-ish that kicks in after the break that comes from Glad

nope dont know them personally, have met them all and chatted with them(a tiny bit) but nothing about what they do in the studio(1.thats tacky and 2. i dont care what theyre doing).i dont like to go preset spotting(im only responsible for maybe 6 or 7 of the spottings on that list),that was a list i figured may help some people that think they need a lot more than they do to sound the way they want to sound.i just happen to have a very sensitive ear and an excellent memory so i cant help but to break stuff down(that i like) as i hear it or later on down the road without meaning to.

oh! ok then my mistake. in that case thanks for the info I’m sure someone will find it of some use.

love Cakewalk Rapture…

Cakewalk - Rapture Pro

It’s 100 bucks and it’s sample-based synthesis so you can get expansion packs for Moog and Access Virus sounds among others.

I have to say the main VST I use now is Rob Papen Blue, use it every track be for riff’s or bass!
