Overclocking

I know some of you like to play around with this sort of thing.

Does anyone have any tips on how to go about this?

I have used this resource but I’m unsure about the advice

Does it look right? Or is there a better way?

I’m sure Wayne knows a bit about this, personally i’ve never bothered with it.

I overclocked my desktop recently but I wouldnt bother trying to overclock a laptop, your will bad cooling issues at least and at the extreme end could overheat your CPU

yeah i did think about that, basically this laptop is purly to run traktor and i have considered “modding” it to help keep it cooler.

does that link to info look good to you?

yeah that looks pretty safe, your not changing voltages or anything like that by changing the FSB so you’ll be ok.

I would look for some software that tells you your CPU temp, CPU-Z might. Run prime 95 for 30min - 1 hour and see what the max temp hits.

Then keep on eye on this when you change the FSB speed to make sure it dosent go to high.

Once you find a stable FSB speed with a temp that isnt to high you will need to apply it to the laptop BOIS, so before you start its worth checking your BOIS screen to ensure you are able to do this or its a total waste of time.
