Hey guys,
I’m in the process of converting my backyard shed into a personal studio (It’s a nice shed, built well and made out of wood), and was just looking for ideas on what to have setup in there, as well as some tips on soundproofing ideas. I’m currently removing the walls and installing R20 insulation to help contain sound, just finished installing potlights, and now need ideas on how to setup the room. It’s a square room measuring about 12x12, and has plywood walls right now. What else should i use to help sound proof, and will i need to build bass traps etc? Also what should I have in there equipment wise? So far i have studio monitors, a full sized pc running ableton, axiom 25, my laptop, and a soundcard. Any suggestions on good plugins would also be helpful, especially reverb, compression, and any other important vst’s.
Only thing that will help sound proofing is mass. Plasterboard in double or triple layers would help.
