Can’t go wrong with the Korg M1.

Native Instruments has “The Giant”. I don’t own it myself, but it looks pretty cool and versatile. Pretty sure you can do any style with that one, from light jazz to huge cinematic kind of stuff. If you don’t mind the software route that one looks like a solid choice for a piano.

The one that I use a lot is Tonehammer’s Emotional Piano which recently became SoundIron Emotional Piano.

Personally I loved the sound to death and have used it in numerous tracks.

If you need a preview they have some great ones on the site:

The “Being Newman” preview near the bottom gives you a great idea of what it offers, obviously influenced by Newman the composer who did Road to Perdition’s soundtrack alongside other great compositions.

Plus a free attempt at advertising my own work with it lol :stuck_out_tongue:

-SoundCloud - Hear the world’s sounds

Note this one was done on broken headphones so ignore the lack of a decent mixdown.

Again personally I think its incredible. But I am very tempted to give “The Giant” a try as well, been looking to give it a try for a while. It does look hot, and a friend has said it has a nice bottom end to it whereas emotional piano’s bottom is muddy (in a nice way IMO).

Come to think of it, if you take a look at the HTM 90’s house course on here, Phil shows you how to make your own piano using some Korg samples and Abletons Sampler. The samples are in the course download.

thanks guys - some good tips and links on there will most definitely check then out

in the mean time i found a demo called True Pianos

this is what i used it for - hope you all approve

SoundCloud - Hear the world’s sounds

Me personally thinks that to really test the quality of a Piano VST plug you need to test its lower end, that to me is where the difference is really noticeable.

That being said I enjoyed that, however, it does sound like some typical trance influenced ambient music.
