dance midi samples. tons of trance chords progressions you can just drop in your sequencer.

thanks mate im looking more for an actual theory side of it with to learn chords for scales and actual chord names etc

in the OLd trance course the first few videos are about chords.

when i started off i just learned how to play all the most famous riffs… cafe del mar, out of the blue, off shore, for an angel, binary finary etc.

gives you a really good sense of what chords and riffs work together.

took a pretty long time learning to play them but is worth it in the end.

Who came up with the chord progression in Coast 2 Coast - Home Phil? Its nice

Shhhhssshh!

ok thanks phil i will give that a go, any chance you are able to help me out with a rough structure for a 7min trance song and how often roughly new sounds come in the mix im used to focusing on house tracks with new sounds coming in and every 8 bars but doesnt seem to be the case in trance

Get a tranve tune warp it stick it in your arrange page and see when stuff comes in.

I still do it… Can really help with basic structure for a new style.

Lol I revert everyone to my thread How to steal some inspiration in the tips n tricks section of the forum lol.

It was one of those lets do a bootleg of this track… Then the tracks starts sounding awesome… Lets get our own vocals on this… Voila TUNE!

Tbf still took be anoth 2 months of production putting it together… A full month on the arpeggios and stabs. Seriously every day just trying to get it all working together.

I wish I had vocalists like that local to me :frowning:

Do yoi think it took that long cos u were just being creative or because things back in the day were a bit harder and took longer than they do now. Also a fun question Phil, when did you realise that this wasnt just another tune and was a hit?

It took so long because i had never really produced a track that had so much potential… And i wasnt great at playing keys so had to just use trial and error.

Had no real experience recording vocals too so that took quite a while.

Must have done about 20 versions with different arrangements.

We played it out at planet love in front of 2000 people and the place went mental… It had been played on radio a couple of times but we had never really seen it played out.

It was such an amazing feeling… People singing along n ****.

Thats awesome Phil, I think you need to get the boys together again and make a new track lol :stuck_out_tongue:

We can only hope lol…

Id love to have the time… if i had a spare 2 months id love to write a proper track.

I think it really takes you to totally zone in on it.

when we did home and the few of the other bigger tracks i lived in a house with 2 studios one was mine the other Agnelli and Nelsons. i think the vibe we got going and me and Chris bouncing ideas was the key.

Was such an amazing year.

Lol that sounds like my ideal house …
