Please, please, please no more old school-tutorials!

Dear People from Sonic Academy,br
br
first off all thanks a lot for all the tutorials, as well for that last one how to make Techno 2014. You can learn from all of them something thats true but:br
the electronic music developed in the last years extremly, its not anymore so “loopie” so predictable. Its with lots of changes, effects, ryhtmvariation. Lots of cool surprising stuff. This Technotutorial is pittyfully an old school one. Like lots of tutorial before. I can understand that there is still lots of people who like that and learn a lot from it. But I really really would love so much to have as well an exception with an amazing new tutorial with modern ways of produceing, twisting sounds continuosly, changing grooves, automating appregios, synths , resample etc… like fo example Extrawelt, Microtrauma and other big technoproducers. If I am wrong here to request something like that, than please give me a tip or link where I can find some tuts in that direction. Thanks a lot in advance!

No disrespect intended, but these guys are doing a pretty good job at modern production. I haven’t heard of the techno producers you mention, I’m certain they are quality, but I really think you will find the answers to what you are searching for by utilizing these core foundational techniques and strategies that you will find here on this site. When you say “big techno producers” the first people that will come to most people’s minds will be something like richie hawtin, adam beyer, chris liebing, dubfire, kevin saunderson, etc. br

A lot of what you may be thinking of, to me, is simply artistic expression in terms of how someone produces. If you notice from the artist series each artist has a different approach to how they do things when writing songs and tracks for the dance floor. Part of what makes tracks work in massive clubs and festivals IS the predictability. It’s what get’s people lost in the rhythms and melodies. Too much variability can be distracting to the listener. It just depends on what you are going for. That being said, they covered twisting and changing sounds, automating arpegiators, synths, and resampling already in the most recent tutorial and if you go through all of the tech tips and videos (there are a LOT of them) there are many on those topics as well. The rest of it is up to you to develop yourself artistically. I don’t know how long you’ve been working on things, but this just takes time and practice practice practice. Just my 2c.

I agree with you about some modern mainstream music that is still predictible. But what I mean are those kind of music:br

and there is many more. Listen especially to the last example how cool he is playing and changing the ryhtmics, sounds grooves effects. Its high quality music with an amazing sound design. So if nobody understands what I mean, I might to be wrong here. Dont understand me wrong, I learn a lot from the tutorials here but now I would like to get some steps further. But I ask myself Sonic Academy is not just for mainstream or? I would be very happy If I could get some usefull tips.

that perfect stranger track is pretty nasty!!br
br
…and i don’t even listen to that much techno!!

Hey mate here’s a tutorial showing you how to manipulate a sample to get a variablebr

Thanks for that link!! I found there as well lots of other very cool sounddesign tuts. The main problem what I have is not only to make that crazy cool sounddesin, its to keep the orientation during working on all those effekts and to control and change them on the points I want without spending to much effort. During the Effects building it happens that its gettin more and more tracks, audiofiles and lots of automated parameters. I loose the overview, and get some how stucked not knowing anymore if its cool or not, or to much, does it lead in a wrong direction and so on. I would like to learn from those kind of people who does this things if they have a system to proceed whithout to loose their self. I really love that kind of music so much!!
