Podcasting

I started a new podcast recently and after a few problems managed to get iTunes approval - its pretty easy to do if anyone would like to start one, reffer over to the iTunes podcating help page or feel free to ask me any questions.

Mine is picking up support now and I’d love a bit of feedback

I’ve also just open a facebook page recently http://www.facebook.com/globaltrancendance

And am working on a home page which will contain news about the scene http://www.waynefontaine.co.uk

Well done fella, just having a listen to them now! Tunes are banging! :stuck_out_tongue:

I have always thought about getting into Podcasting. I used to run my own radio show many years ago which i really enjoyed doing but there were just some weekends when i couldn’t physically get to do the radio show, so i guess podcasting gives you that flexibility really…

Do you need any specific or is it just a case of recording your mixes etc?

You must be listening to that 30min mix I just uploaded, the rest are on a more progressive edge (or at least start that way!)

Podcasting is a good idea I think, all you really need is somewhere to host your files with direct download linking and an RSS file so iTunes can link back to them. http://www.apple.com/itunes/podcasts/specs.html

Simple as that, then you submit via iTunes and as long is there is no issues you good to go! You can track your subscribers by the number of file downloads if you place the files on your server. All in all a good way to get exposure

Can you use your own unsigned tracks?

Hmm, sounds good. I will look into that today then i think  thanks gofunk!

Oh, just for the record, i have subscribed :w00t:

You can use whatever you want. My podcasts are DJ mixes with a bit of talking I do over it. I have included my own tracks in the mix before.

If you wanted you could even just have single tracks or some people do thing that dont even relate to music like news podcasts…

You only submit the feed which is the RSS file link to iTunes once for approval and then whenever you update it it goes stright to iTunes without any approval needed so your in total control of everything from content to artwork.

Hmmm very interesting - another one for my ever growing list of things to do - will check out your podcast when i get back from work
