Private lessons?

I just want to start off by saying that Sonic Academy has been an absolute treat to have over the past month. Although I must be honest and say the actual tutorial videos haven't helped me as much as I had wished. This is not because of the actual videos, the videos are extremely informative and professional. I truly think it's just me, all my life I have been someone that learns best from one on one interaction with an actual teacher. I like to feel engaged and ask questions with immediate feedback. I like to know why something is important, and if I make a mistake, what can be done to fix it and improve. I will be a freshman at college this fall, and have one real goal for the next 4 years of my life. I want to be that guy on campus, that throws down the (excuse my wording) filthiest electro, house, dubstep, remix, mashups, whatever, on campus. I realize that this daunting task is no cake walk and takes years of serious practice.

So what im looking for, is someone to set up sort of a practice schedule with weekly with private lessons over Ableton Live 8, and the mechanics necessary to produce the genres I listed above. If anyone is willing to take sometime to discuss the opportunity I would really appreciate it, as I am 100% committed to this process. Lessons can be done over Skype or any other video chat app, unless anyone knows of a better method. Feel free to message me on this post, or private within the site. I will also list my personal email below.

thanks guys

We have been thinking about how to offer more one to one stuff for quite a while although the time constraints dont make it practical for my self and by to do it.

one idea would be have a monitored system that you could get other users to help you and then rate that help so you could see who is awesome or not… everyone usually has their own specific area where they excel like Jamie on theory etc.

If it was monitored by us and you had some confidence you where getting good help would this work?

are there any will test teachers out their who might be interested in this kind of thing?

great idea phil, I think a skype esque add on to SA would be ideal. Gives the users a chance to have a real time chat and tutorial with specific teachers depending on what area they are looking to enhance.

Microsoft has a serviced Chat. Everytime you join the Chat, you pay like 80$ via Paypal/Credit Card.

I’m sure this Script is not hard to write.

Just write a Script with a Chat, to join you have to pay like 10$ for 20 Minutes Teaching or 10/Service or what ever…

Another Way, Everytime you join the Chat, you lose 10 Days of your Subscription or something like that.

With this Way you make sure, that Users don’t join the Chat, just because they’re bored or haven’t watched the Videos. Everyone get’s tired by Answering FAQs…

Yeah the other option would be like a group web cast where you get say 5 on at a time interested in a particular subject and their questions drive the course… ive been looking into decent screencasting software to see if we could get technology to get a decent 720p resolution.

I honestly think that would send this site a cut above the rest, no doubt. A lot of people, including myself I think have a much easier time learning, when they can ask questions, and get real time personal feedback relating to their individual situation.

And you can’t ask Questions in the Forum and wait a Minute?

But I see your Point.

My single Objection is that this kind of Feature eat up the Time it takes to make more of those awesome Tutorial-Videos, that made Sonic Academy what it is…

I prefer Videos with downloadable Content muuuuch versus a Life-Chat…

Wouldn’t a huge Shoutbox do the same?

Much more active Forum and better Users can help others without wasting Tutors Time…

dont get me wrong i love the vids! I guess it’s just depends on the type of learner you are?
