Okay,
New to the site and just subscribed. Bit gutted i cant save the vids as 1: my nets pretty slow and this hanging around for buffering lark is a joke so wouldnt mind being able to save and watch from hdd. 2: flicking through there are some id like to keep for future reference.
But my biggest concern… I download the project files, try opening and it states something along the lines of “cannot open project as project was created in newer version of live”
I have suite 8 :blink:

hey mate, just go to help menu in Ableton and click ‘Check for updates’

Did hear somewhere tho that when you update live you are no longer able to open projects made in early versions. Do you know if this is the case? Doesn’t sound right but its also a risk i don’t want to take till I’m sure.

No, you can open the old files but it will convert them to the new format and you will not be able to open them in the earlier version of ableton (but you can open them in the newer version).

yes we tend to move with the updates to make use of the new features etc.
we will be launching a download service in the near future - currently planned to be on a per course basis
