Hello Everyone./PPI am fairly new to production and i am at the point now where i need to learn my production volume levels on each track of my song. now here are my questions. first, prior to the mixdown what should be the volume level of each track in my song e.g drums, synt, baseline ECT. should they all be at ZEROE db?nbsp; the reason am asking is because i know thatnbsp;in the mixdown phase my volume levels should be between -6db and -4db for the song to be ready for mastering. so at what level should the volume be of each track during the production phase? or how do i determine at what level should my diffrent instruments be at?/PPthanks guys.
The level of each track should be done to ear… You just have to listen to a lot of tracks and build up a picture in your head of what volume levels each instrument sits at… It will change from track to track depending on the type of sound etc. Sonyou cant really say e.g. The bass should be at -2 db or strings should be at -3 db. Its all releative the other sounds and the nature of the sounds.br
