Professional Drum Samples

I keep hearing some amazing drum samples around and I know people make there own but I’ve heard a lot of the same snares etc. and wondering if anyone knows some good professional sample sites? I know theres vengeance and others but I think there are better ones than that. Also looking for dubstep samples but cant find any. (I mean theres loopmasters but there never good in my opinion) So if anyone could give me some links that would be amazing. Thanks!

i bought quite a few exs instruments from ebay, named rare drum machines and super rare drum machines sampled from the real deal very cool.

I dont think what your looking for exsits.

vengeance ones are as good as any ive heard.

I think its about layering and fx etc.

Ah I see, just I’ve heard some pretty special ones. They probably made it themselves. Which is a bummer because I have no idea how to do it. Do you have a course on it?/Planning on one?

The Goldbaby sample packs I find are really good, lots of vintage gear used

You mean the drum fills you hear after every 4 or 8 bars?

Cause those are most likely samples from libraries or sampled from old records.

There’s several Vengeance sample packs but none that just specialize in drums. If you got, for example, the Trance Sensations Volume 1 pack, then how many drum samples might you expect to get?

Some of the best, if not the best i’ve heard…

To check if your kickdrum is in tune do you use spectrum? and then the highest db frequency is what key your kick is in? I find this weird because sometimes the highest band covers a wide area cause of pitch bend…

Do any of you try to synthesize your drums to “vengeance sample quality” I try to do it alot and have been getting better

-For Kicks i synthesize the sub part, for 200Hz to 600 HZ i use a compressed sub with overdrive and noise, EQ’d alot, and perhaps layered with a real kick for real knock, and then any interesting high-passed noise for the top (as long as its not too tonal)

-for snares i layer a compressed and saturated triangle with EQd noise, and a real snare then compress and thicken it with more FX, it also helps if you boost a little band around like 300hz-500hz so it cracks a little more

  • then hats i just use FM synthesis with fx

What do you guys do for your synthesizing percussion?
