Progressive type tune-Zevo

Hey SA.  I’m back from quite a long hiatus in music so I was eager to get a new tune going to shake the rust off. This one is just about finished up but I wanted to get some criticism/feedback on it.  I wanted to make sure I’m keeping interest without having too much going on and I was also looking on some tips to mix/EQ.

Comments/Feedback/Criticism is much appreciated

(I can’t figure out how to embed the SC widget/player, advice on that would be awesome)

nice work man!

I think a few improvements could be:

-The drums could use some more power, take a look into parallel compression (compression on a return track added into the drums, thus no loss of original drum dynamics but added weight and power) to add some extra depth and fatness to them.

-Transitioning of sections could be a bit less abrupt, so perhaps add more drums fills and breaks as well as delay/reverb/flanger/chorus leading up to a new section.

-Perhaps add a bit of stereo width to the bassline to fill it out a bit more (delay with left and right channels both set to time instead of sync. left channel 1 ms, right channel 8ms) - adds a lot of oompth!

Hope it helps!

Wow awesome feedback thank you!  It’s nice to get specific comments on what to work on :D  So far it’s sounding much better, I widened the bass a bit and added the parellel compression to the drums.  Both are much chunkier now! The little one is ready for bed and so am I so I’ll be working on the transitions and redoing the levels tomorrow night and over the weekend.  Thanks again, man, I really appreciate it :)

Ok here’s the “final” mix.   Added a few drum fills and elements to fill it out and thickened up the drums and bassa bit.  Feedback/criticism welcome and appreciated! Thanks :w00t:
