Propper track feedback system

This is my school of music, when you are at school your teachers mark your work and tell what you how well you have done and what you need to improve on, so it makes total sense to me.

I’m not sure about paying extra but maybe if it was done on a pay as you go scheme it would be better.

Users could be limited to the number of tracks they could have “fixed” and maybe pick out a couple a month as video examples for the site for everyone to see

Then grade me asap http://www.indabamusic.com/songs/show/762925  Its hard to get feedback on this site . All I want is Direction with my mixes .

There is this short film making site called triggerstreet, and the way they do their feedback is as follows.

They have a guided review process, so you watch the shortfilm and then review the certain aspects of the film based on their layout.

  1. Story
  2. Acting
  3. Editing
  4. ect…

Now the more films you review…the more credit they allot to your film. So you basically need credits to get your film reviewed, and you earn credits by reviewing others films. Very effective system. This involves some sort of tracking software/system though. So that’s the down side, figuring all that out.

that sounds like a good system

For what its worth heres how id do it.

Thursday…SA opens the dropbox

Friday Evening…SA closes its dropbox.

(this will help keep numbers of tracks down and not overload anyone with tons of stuff)

SA staff do a quick filtration process and picks maybe 3 tunes from the lot.

Tune 1…would be a tune they feel is pretty much release ready but maybe a quick tweek is needed.

Tune 2… would be a tune that has real potential to go somwhere but needs a few bits sorting out.

Tune 3…would be not so much a bad tune but mite have an instance of a pretty common producing problem ie. bad mix down or whatever but something people run into all the time.

Monday…The selected tracks get put up in there own section of the forum and the whole community gets to have their say on the tracks and how they would go about tweaking them and so on.

Friday…SA staff jump in and give their advice on the tracks tracks.

repeat process…

If SA were to appoint community members who they think will give sound advice all the tracks not used could be handed over to them…

This way everyone gets feed back,

and not pops the track up and hopes someone comments.

i really believe this will take time away from SA creating content, its not like we get new content every week , they already have their hands full creating the tuts and the get that sound stuff
tommyt (08/06/2010)
as was suggested a couple of months back pick a users track and have one of the tutors go through it and make improvements and recommendations where needed.

i still feel like it would be cool if there was a dedicated group of members that would review others tracks. maybe the identity could be hidden
Totally agree, I think a few selected tracks should be reviewed by SA/Senior Members on a monthly basis. Then post the videos for the benefit of everyone. Maybe review tracks by the members who are kinda junior/intermediate in skill but fully active in the forums.

I always think feedback should be free, I try and do 5 to 10 reviews for every track I submit to scrutiny, just because I love getting feedback good or bad myself.

i think it would benefit me alot and i think it would be a good idea especially in my early stages i benefit from the individual attention of you n brian, lol that sounds wrong, or the other experienced guys( like howie, jon, tommy, roben and many more. their the only ones ive spoke to so far) in here on some sort of 1 to 1 basis.

thumbs up by me
